Social Investment Fund (SIF)

CEDEP facilitated this project in the Sefwi Wiawso District of the Western Region of Ghana. The SIF is one of the poverty reduction programmes of the government and it delivers social infrastructure (schools, clinics, boreholes etc) and micro-credit to both rural and urban poor.

CEDEP/French Embassy Project for Promoting Grasscutter Rearing in KMA

The main objective of the project was to create jobs and reduce poverty among the poor especially retired people in the Kumasi Peri-urban Interface (KPUI). From the financial assistance received from the French Embassy, 22 farmers were supported to build the GTZ-type grasscutter cages and additionally benefited from stocking of the cages with domesticated grasscutter breeders. The result was great and the association of grasscutter breaders became a vibrant and registered cooperative society that had its own systems of operation.

West Africa Fair-trade Fruits Project

This was a collaborative project between Solidaridad, a Netherlands based NGO which supported Agrofair – a fruit export company and CEDEP to develop and export Organic Certified and Fair-trade Fruits from Ghana and Burkina Faso to the European Union.
