CEDEP/French Embassy Project for Promoting Grasscutter Rearing in KMA

The main objective of the project was to create jobs and reduce poverty among the poor especially retired people in the Kumasi Peri-urban Interface (KPUI). From the financial assistance received from the French Embassy, 22 farmers were supported to build the GTZ-type grasscutter cages and additionally benefited from stocking of the cages with domesticated grasscutter breeders. The result was great and the association of grasscutter breaders became a vibrant and registered cooperative society that had its own systems of operation.
