Good Governace

Development Partner(s)

Programme for Rural Action (worked with District Assemblies)This was an integrated rural development program with a focus on capacity building of development agents at the district and community levels in order to among other things, effectively implement the decentralization policy of the Government of Ghana. CEDEP assisted in facilitating the implementation process using the “multiplier approach”. In this approach, selected staff and members of the Districts and Sub-districts Assemblies; Area Councils; and the decentralized departments were trained to understand the Decentralization Policy, their roles and responsibilities, facilitation and community mobilization skills. Those trained by CEDEP thereafter were to provide downstream training to Unit Committee Members at the grassroots levels.
