Gender and Economic Reforms in Africa

CEDEP facilitated an action-oriented research and training project between the Kumasi Central Market traders and the policy makers of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly. The main objective was to support the market women to identify and develop structures enabling them to participate in economic policy-making at the local level. The learning and action component was geared towards getting the women to appreciate the linkages between the producer of the foodstuff and the trader and how policy can be to the advantage of these linkages.
