The Centre for the Development of People (CEDEP) is a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organisation of considerable local and international repute. CEDEP has a philosophy of optimizing human potential for sustainable development in Ghana.
Since its establishment in 1983, CEDEP has supported many development interventions through development education, advisory services, researches, trainings, advocacy and networking; and has achieved a credible status as a major service-oriented Non-Governmental Organization. Over the years, CEDEP has adopted a cross-sectoral approach to poverty reduction, human resource development, gender equity and sustainable development, working in various sectors and with different actors. CEDEP believes in the power of collective action and, therefore, has worked with a host of development partners including multi-laterals, bi-laterals, transnational, international and local NGOs.
CEDEP comprises a Board of Trustees, which is the governing body, a management team headed by an Executive Director that sees to the day-to-day business of CEDEP and its programmes and support units. Our head office is in Kumasi, the central part of Ghana.
CEDEP currently has staff strength of 8 qualified and experienced professionals with varied backgrounds, who form a multi-disciplinary team. In addition, CEDEP maintains a directory of experienced professionals as resource persons who it falls on to assist in the implementation of projects, should the need arise. This crop of professionals has varied backgrounds as well and includes university lecturers, bureaucrats and technocrats.
To achieve the vision and mission CEDEP has also established a consultancy wing that undertakes consultancy services to raise funds to enable CEDEP facilitate some relevant activities, which does not have Donor funding.
